Racist comment about stabbing coverage?

I always get myself in trouble when I suggest that there might be even a hint of racism in Rochester. But I'm continually amazed when I go into our letters to the editor in-box and see comments like this one, left for us Thursday night about a story on the recent stabbing.

"I was surprised that the people involved in the stabbing were of dark complexion!!"

I asked the author for clarification on what she meant and received no response.
