Molnau to take on Walz?
There is an interesting story in the Star Tribune today about the possible future career of Republican Lt. Gov. Carol Molnau. The article said she is being mentioned as a possible candidate for the First District Congressional race. She would be taking on second-term DFL Congressman Tim Walz. The article notes that Molnau is also leaving open the possibility of running for governor in 2010.
Molnau has a controversial history. She was ousted 17 months ago from her post as head of the Minnesota Department of Transportation in the wake of the I-35W bridge collapse.
The article also quotes State Republican Party Chairman Tony Sutton as saying party officials think Walz may be vulnerable. It should be noted, however, that Walz soundly defeated Republican challenger Dr. Brian Davis last year garnering 62.5 percent of the vote compared to Davis' 32.9 percent.
Here is a link to the Star Tribune story.

Walz will be out of office this next round. He is not listening to his district or his constituents. The People that he is supposed to be representing are very concerned about cap and trade and about the health care reform issue and Walz is only interested in talking to people that share his and the dems views. Whether I like it or not he IS representing me, my family and my district in Washington, but he does not want to hear what we have to say. I will do everything I can to help a worthy candidate to campaign against him.

Saw moniker GetInformed and knew who it would be. I'm also going to take a wild guess and say Rep. Walz knows who you are and what your "political hobby" is. Maybe that's why you don't get much attention from him. Just guessin.

Sorry (to remind you again) friends of the conservative persuasion; but Elections have Consequences. You lost the last one, or two; and we won with our candidates. Please tell me Why politicians like Rep. Walz should not follow the wishes of those who elected them??
