Sen. Franken?

Franken mug The long-running U.S. Senate recount appears to have taken yet another twist, with the state canvassing board preparing to name Democrat Al Franken the recount winner over incumbent Republican Sen. Norm Coleman. According this Associated Press article, the board is expected to meet today and declare a winner. Franken holds a 225 vote lead over Coleman in the recount of nearly 3 million ballots.

But don't think that means this recount is over. The Coleman campaign, which lead Franken on election night, has filed a petition with the Minnesota Supreme Court asking that 650 ballots it says were improperly rejected be included in the recount. Plus, there is a high likelihood of a lawsuit being filed by the Coleman camp.
