Senate candidates beat path to Rochester

With three months before the November election, it's beginning to feel more like late October than early August. At least three Senate candidates will be making visits to Rochester on Thursday. GOP. Sen. Norm Coleman will address a group of business leaders at the Canadian Honker at 8 a.m. DFL Senate candidate Al Franken will hold a roundtable at 3 p.m. at the American Legion Post 92 in Rochester and propose expanding veterans benefits. In between the Coleman and Franken events, Independence Party candidate Dean Barkley will stop by the offices of the Rochester Post Bulletin. And earlier this week, DFL candidate Priscilla Lord Faris was in town. Campaigns often have the feel of a marathon but this already seems like a sprint.
