Will Pawlenty resign?
If Gov. Tim Pawlenty does become the running mate of Sen. John McCain, you can expect to hear state DFL leaders call for Pawlenty's resignation. They might be happy to be rid of a Republican governor who has successfully bested Democratic candidates, even as the state has shifted blue. Although Pawlenty would be under no legal obligation to do so, DFLers are likely to make that an issue, as was made clear today in a statement released by state DFL Chairman Brian Melendez. If he were to resign, Lt. Gov. Carol Molnau would succeed him.
"A month ago, I asked a very simple question of Governor Pawlenty: If Senator McCain chooses you as his running mate, will you resign as governor? He still hasn't answered.
"Under Governor Pawlenty, Minnesota has slid into a deep recession while our govenor sat on his hands. But instead of working on the real problems that our state and its families face, Tim Pawlenty is gallivanting across the country pushing his own national ambitions while ignoring the state that he was elected to lead.
"So I'll repeat the very simple question: If you run for vice president, will you resign as governor? Yes or no?"

Thanks to Gov Pawlenty, MN recessionary pressure is being held at bay, at least a little bit.
All the democrats have been begging to do is raise every tax under the sun and create dozens of new ones to spend the money.
Sorry, but intelligent people understand that taking money out of private citizens pockets and spending it on public projects does not stimulate the economy.
High taxes and high spending are the killers of economic growth and are what got us into this mess in the first place.
