Ron Paul keeps on buzzing
Ron Paul is definitely not through being a bee in the Republican Party's bonnet.
When the former presidential contender was denied an opportunity to speak at the state Republican Convention held in Rochester in late May, he held a rally outside Mayo Civic Center and made something of a prediction to the crowd.
"The campaign still has a little ways to go," the maverick Texas congressman told several hundred people in Rochester. "It's just maybe that we may have a grand presence in Minneapolis come September."
Now the politician who wants to abolition the IRS is following through on that prediction.
Supporters announced today that their Rally for the Republic featuring Paul will be held at Minneapolis' Target Center, home of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Planners for the Paul event had orginally considered a college basketball arena that seats about 11,000 people, but instead opted for the Target Center, which can accommodate at least 15,000.
Paul is scheduled to speak during the 10-hour rally on Sept. 2, the second day of the four-day GOP convention, local coordinator Marianne Stebbins said.
Paul's message of low taxes and limited governmental regulation has had strong appeal in Rochester, where two of the four GOP candidates for the state House of Representatives were Paul supporters.

Revolutions are long term projects.

Will Brian Davis show up to thank Ron Paul? According to MinnPost:
[Ron Paul coordinator] Stebbins predicted that the Paul-ites won't do any work for McCain and not much work for Coleman. However, she sees them working hard for such congressional candidates as Barb Davis White in the 5th District and Brian Davis in the 1st. At best, Davis White is a long shot in her race against Keith Ellison. Davis meets Sen. Dick Day in a primary, with the winner taking on incumbent Tim Walz.,'' she said.
