Obama has lead in Minnesota and 3 other swing states
Another series of Quinnipiac Polls were released today, showing Democratic Sen. Barack Obama with leads in four battleground states over Republican Sen. John McCain. The polls were conducted in partnership with the Wall Street Journal and WashingtonPost.com. Here's how four current swing states look today:
COLORADO: Obama 49 percent - McCain 44 percent
MICHIGAN: Obama 48 percent - McCain 42 percent
MINNESOTA: Obama 54 percent - McCain 37 percent
WISCONSIN: Obama 52 percent - McCain 39 percent
The press release described the results this way:
"An emerging Democratic coalition of women, minorities, and younger voters is propelling Illinois Sen. Barack Obama to leads of five to 17 percentage points over Arizona Sen. John McCain among likely voters in battleground states of Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin, according to four simultaneous Quinnipiac University Polls.
"Sen. McCain's lead among white voters in Colorado and Michigan cuts the gap to single digits, but doesn't offset Sen. Obama's strength among other groups. The Democrat also leads by eight to 21 percentage points among independent voters in each state.
Democrats would like Obama to pick Sen. Hillary Clinton as his running mate, but voters overall reject the idea. Independent voters oppose Sen. Clinton by 16 to 29 percentage points."
Says Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute: "November can't get here soon enough for Sen. Barack Obama. He has a lead everywhere, and if nothing changes between now and November he will make history."

Copied off the net: This will open our eyes!!!!!!! Think before pulling that lever:
In just one year. Remember the election in 2006?
Thought you might like to read the following:
A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.
Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars; 6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!
Remember it's Congress that makes law not the President.
He has to work with what's handed to him.
Part 2:
Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics enlightening and amazing.
www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.html
Taxes under Clinton 1999 Taxes under Bush 2008
Single making 30K - tax $8,400 Single making g 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $14,000 Single making 50K - tax $12,500&nbs p;
Single making 75K - tax $23,250 Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K - tax $16,800 Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $21,000 Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $38,750 Married making 125K - tax $31,250
Both democratic candidates will return to the higher tax rates
It is amazing how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If Obama or Hillary are elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen. This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don't even know what happened.

TeagleT - One of the sources you cite, the National Policy Institute, appears to be a White Supremacist organization - not exactly a good source for objective research.

Teagle--now that your eyes are open, how about learning to evaluate the email urban legends that you paste in here from your inbox?
If you want to believe falsehoods, that's your right, but don't expect others to be as gullible. Readers might ask themselves why they're supposed to accept known false information as fact.
Part 1: "voting for change" is a false urban legend.
Debunked at snopes and factcheck.org (sorry about the {dot} but this post is getting flagged as spam with the hyperlinks intact)
www {dot} snopes {dot}com/politics/business/votedforchange.asp
www {dot} factcheck {dot} org/askfactcheck/did_electing_a_democratic_congress_in_2006.html
part 2:
If anyone here actually bother to follow the link at the Tax Foundation, he or she will find a request to visit yet another page, since the figures in the post TeagleT cites are wildly exaggerated.
Click on
www {dot} taxfoundation {dot} org/publications/show/151.html
and you'll see this message:
U.S. Federal Individual Income Tax Rates History, 1913-2008
Note: If you clicked on this link in response to an e-mail, blog post, or message board comparing income taxes under Presidents Clinton and Bush, please see this page: www {dot} taxfoundation {dot} org/blog/show/22958.html
Which leads to a post correcting the wildly stretched truth in the misinformation TeagleT proudly posted here.
How much stretching? Let's look at the first tax category --and evidently he believes to be true--that a single taxpayer earning under $30,000 paid $8400 under Clinton, but now pays only $4500 under Bush! If true, wow, $3900 difference, right?
Unfortunately, as the Tax Foundation itself says in setting the record straight, that taxpayer actually paid $3,157.50 under Clinton and now pays $2,756.25 under Bush. That's a $401 difference--nearly one-tenth of what TeagleT's source wants you to accept as a fact.
The urban tax legend put succinctly:
taxprof (dot} typepad {dot}com/taxprof_blog/2008/03/another-tax-urb.html
What will you paste in here from your inbox next, TeagleT? Chances at wealth from the Nigerian money offer, the Spanish Prisoner, or Russian/Ukrainian scam?
