New eco-friendly auto repair shop growing fast

It looks like work on the new Joe's Auto Care on Civic Center Drive is really speeding along this week.

In case you don't remember, I wrote about this project a couple of months ago.

Here's some from that column as a refresher:

Look for a new automotive repair center with an eco-friendly focus to sprout up in northwest Rochester.

04242012joesautocareJoe Peter plans to plant a new 55,000-square-foot repair center at 1420 Civic Center Drive, after the former Valvoline Oil Change building on the site is demolished and cleared away.

Longtime Rochester food fans might remember the history of that spot. Peter says he's been told that's where the legendary Henry's Hamburgers stand was located.

---------
Peter's plan is to build this second repair shop to complement his nearby Joe's Auto Care that is tucked away at 923 Sixth St. N.W., near the People's Cooperative/Good Food Store grocery.

The pair of repair centers will both be branded as Joe's Auto Care, though the new one will probably have a slightly different name to show its commitment to using products and procedures that are environmentally friendly.

I took my car to Joe's for the first time ever last month. I have to say this must be the best auto shop in Rochester. I was blown away by how friendly and thoughtful they were - the bill came out less than the estimate which was already reasonable. They offered me a ride to work and when I picked up my car they gave me a card good for one year of free nationwide roadside assistance for that vehicle, just for being their customer - plus the card gets me nationwide warranty service on their repair. And then they called me a couple of weeks later to see if I was happy with their work, and if I want to bring it back to check for leaks, they can do that free! I sound like I work there or something (I don't), but I was really impressed. Now they are doing the green thing too - how could you not like this place!

I had never even heard of Joe's Autocare until I read this. I'm on Civic Center Drive often, how did I miss it? Congrats to them though and glad to see the above comment. Maybe I will give them a try next time I'm in need of service. Thanks for the article, Kiger.

I love Joe's Auto Care! My husband goes to another mechanic, but I found Joe's and I am staying put.

The caliber of people working for Joe is wonderful... well trained, friendly and caring. Jayson and Nikki are the best customer service reps. ever. Every repair and charge is thoroughly explained, I am given options as to how to proceed, and they stand by every repair, no matter how small or large.

Congratulations on the new shop Joe! I'm sure it will be as successful as as your first.

Congratulations on the new store Joe! I'm sure it will be as effective as as your first. Keep it up!
