Tooling along - Harbor Freight to open

I know that some of you already knew about this, but here's some details on the Harbor Freight store opening from my column today. Remember, its Thursday, so Heard on the Street is on Page 1B today instead of its usual nest on Page 2A.

If you watch the video, look for the blooper/ outtake clips at the end. I know it is hard to believe that I am not smooth and succinct all of the time, but now there is video evidence of my goofiness. Heh.

Fixing to buy some tools?

Soon you'll have a new place to shop for power drills, socket wrenches, arc welders or whatever else your workshop might need.

Harbor Freight Tools is planning to open the doors of its new Rochester store at 8 a.m. Friday.

Harbor Freight, which is known for its national tool catalog, offers a broad selection of tools ranging from automotive to power tools to gardening to whatever. The majority of the offerings are private label brands.

The Calabasas, Calif.-based tool retailer is nailing down the final touches on its new 15,000-square-foot store at 4200 U.S. 52 North in the shopping center near the Minnesota School of Business.

This reminds me of the Weird Al song "Hardware Store". Google it; its sure to make you laugh.

Keep the outtakes!

I should say, keep the outtakes coming. That was great.

Loved 'em! Don't even post the good take. The outtakes had all the news sprinkled in.

"So if you're a tool.... ... .... ... head.."

Love it!

Thanks for covering this one Jeff!

Heh. "Hey, when are you guys opening?"
