The big Cheese is coming to Med City (For real this time)

First, I need to credit Lando for the tip that started the ball rolling on this Tuesday. Thanks for the help, Lando.

The ever-alert and perceptive Lando had spotted a slew of help wanted ads posted by Chuck E. Cheese's looking for managers and an opening coordinator in Rochester.

And by gouda, he was right. Chuck is coming to the Med City and he'll be right next to Joe and his Three Buck Chuck.

Here's some from my piece on this. The full deal is posted here. And look for some online extras on this topic.

Say cheese, Rochester. After years of asking, Chuck E. Cheese's is really coming to the Med City.

07202010chuckecheeselinensnthings The popular kids' pizza arcade chain signed a lease earlier this month to move into the Apache Shoppes shopping center in southwest Rochester.

It will fill 14,000 square feet of the store left empty when Linens 'N Things closed in 2008.

That will make Chuck E. Cheese's a next-door neighbor to the popular grocery chain coming to Rochester, Trader Joe's.

Joe's is leasing 15,960 square feet of the former Cost Plus World Market store at 1200 16th St. S.W.

Coincidentally, that was the spot Chuck E. Cheese's planned to lease until that deal melted earlier this year as Trader Joe's heated up its own plans.

Now that the dust has settled, Apache Shoppes owner Inland Real Estate Co. has locked in two of the brands most often requested by locals.
