Wicked opening tonight

There's no rest for the Wicked.

04122010wickedmoosejk The staff at the Wicked Moose (McMurphy's/Aquarius before it became Wicked) is gearing up for the launch of its live music venue Friday in southeast Rochester.

While the sports bar side of the Wicked Moose opened a few weeks ago, the revamp of the huge nightclub space is just wrapping up.

"We have built the largest live music stage in Rochester, maybe in this region," says General Manager Dan Zelmer. "We have a big new wood dance floor."

To break in the new stage, the Wicked Moose has booked an '80s cover band called Brat Pack Radio.

Wickedmooselogo Look for a bit of a twang on stage at the W.M. on Saturdays, which will be devoted to country music.

A face familiar to many will greet customers at the door as Vinny Barry has taken the second-in-command position at the resurrected pair of night spots. Barry, an ambassador for the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce, has run operations at the departed Romano's Macaroni Grill and The Green Mill.

While the doors of the barn-sized music venue open at 8 p.m., the sports bar side is now serving up lunch starting at 11 a.m. and then dinner in the evening.

Can't wait to see Brat Pack Radio tonight~ These talented musicians are a fun group that includes a 2009 American Idol contestant and many other talented musicians out of the cities. Thank you Wicked Moose for fast becoming a Music Venue Rochester Needs~ I see you Have Jacob Martin tomorrow night... they are super talented too. I have driven to the cities nearly everyweekend to have great music and establishments. I can finally stay her in "ROCK"chester!! So happy to see this new business working hard to provide Talented musicians Thank you~ See you soon~

Any word on if there is a cover for the live bands?

I think its great Rochester is getting another live music venue.
It to bad Saskatchewan has to go to the "cities" every weekend to see live music which means he/she missed Brat Pack radio last year at Whiskeybones. It seems to be okay with Kiger to allow us to give plugs to our favorite bars next month Whiskeybones has a couple of nights with Poco and later in the month Commander Cody. Rock On.
