True sign of spring on Silver Lake
Here's what I watch for each year to tell me that spring is starting.
Silver Lake Boat and Bike Rentals will
be officially open for the season on Thursday, April 1.
That means you'll be able to rent a paddle boat or bike when the relatives are around for Easter.
This business is owned and run by the industrious Aaron Richard.

You couldn't pay me to put a paddle in that water. I wish something like this was available over at Lake Shady or Zumbro.

Well I'm pretty sure you'd get stuck in the mud on Shaddy Lake and likely run over by boat traffic on Lake Zumbro.
But I do agree, Silver Lake is pretty disgusting to canoe or paddleboat in.

Kev,
There is a canoe/kayak place in Oronoco. You start out in Oronoco and call when you get to the boat landing where Sandy Point used to be. They have a shorter 1 mile run if you have kids and you stop at a park along the way. A group of us did this last year and it was a lot of fun....until it rained.
