When Spam comes to town...

Just peeked at the Rochesterfest 2009 newsletter. It looks great, Fest team.

Spammy2
One thing I found particularly interesting was an item about a new vendor that sells an iconic food item being added to the street paved with calories and deep fry grease.

Look for Spam, Austin's favorite meat product, to crash Rochester's annual bash.

Kevin Arnold and Tim Duren, both of Austin, will run a booth selling, among other things, Spam curds and Spam burgers. Both will be made "with a heavy dose of cheese," according to the newsletter.

Makes me hungry for late June.

I had SPAM curds at the state fair...they are GOOD!

So, Rochesterfest 2009 is here. Anybody check out those Spam burger, Spam curds "with a heavy dose of cheese"?

I had my first spam curd on Saturday and have to say it just wasn't everything I was hoping it would be. I was thinking it would be something with the flavor of spam and the texture of a cheese curd. Instead it was something the flavor of spam and the texture of... spam. Go figure.
