Construction co. closed, auctioning equipment

Since everyone already believes I only report the so-called "bad" stuff, I thought I might as well add this one. I know a few of you have commented on this already on the blog.

After more than 35 years of building in the Rochester area, the Floyd Larson Construction Co. closed earlier this year.

And the reason is a familiar one.

"With the local housing market dipping so badly.we didn't have any work coming up," said Andy Larson, one of the three owners. He owns the business with Scott Krom and Scott Larson.

Look for Rochester's Grafe Auction to sell off the tools, equipment and trucks on March 24 at 3848 U.S. 14 East.

Preview starts at 9 a.m. and bidding starts at 10:30 a.m.

It's too bad when another biz closes, especially after 35 years of operation. I hope that the workers are able to find employment elsewhere so the burden upon their families is minimal.

I'ts too bad they didn't list the reason they really closed and apologize to all of the other companies and suppliers they owe money to!!
