More on JETS Gymnastics new gym

Here's some more details about JETS Gymnastics' building project:
Topgun4

The Olympic flame ignited interest in gymnastics, and a local center hopes a new, larger gym will help it take off.

Dirt is moving in northeast Rochester for the new home of JETS Gymnastics, or Junior Elite Training School.
Owner Tammy St. George started planning for the project long before the Olympics, but now she hopes the larger and better-organized facility she is building will help accommodate all of the newly inspired young gymnasts.

“Typically, we have 500 to 600 signed up for the fall. Now, we have about 800, and people are still coming in,” she says.

The new 21,000-square-foot center is being built at the corner of Viola Road and East Circle Drive, near Century High School. St. George anticipates it will be ready to open in early January.

The two-level facility will feature a below-ground performance floor. Spectators will be able to watch the gymnastics through a Plexiglas shield from a ground level area, like in a hockey arena.

The main level will house new areas that JETS is sashaying into — dance and yoga.

Damn that sounds nice! Jeff, do you have any figures on how many foam pits, tumble tracks, etc etc in the new place?

WOW, dance and yoga... They really are expanding.

Is that Romania dude a coach there?

Yeah, George, the romanian? he's a coach there

Funny that this STILL isn't open.....they now have a July 27th deadline.....we will see if they go past that again. At least their minimal spaced parking lot is now done....

it's not funny that they are not open they had the roof stolen. It was a big set back

That happened when they were still 4 months behind schedule. It's not the owners fault, it's the contractor they hired.
