Follow-up to IBM micro-layoff
For the second time in about three weeks, “a handful” of IBM Rochester jobs were cut Tuesday.
The move was part of a companywide layoff of about 150 employees.

IBM spokesman John Buscemi called the move an “ongoing skills rebalancing” and said “less than a handful” of jobs were cut in Rochester.
He declined to give a range of how many employees might make up “less than a handful.”
“When it is a really small number, it is less than a handful,” he said Thursday.
“A handful” of Rochester IBM workers was cut during a June 24 layoff that reduced the company’s overall workforce by 200. In June, IBM spokesman Jeff Couture defined “a handful” as less than 10.
The Rochester campus had 4,400 workers as of January.
IBM employs more than 120,000 in the United States.

Despite the stats, there are still a lot of high paying jobs on employment sites -

"Skills rebalancing". That's the wackiest euphemism yet for "getting fired".
