New physical therapy office in N.W. Roch.
The Highlands on 19th business park on Rochester's northwest side is starting to really have an independent medical flavor (uhhh… bleah. medical flavor).
Anyway, a new specialized physical therapy office called ActivePT opened recently. Joan Ward, who formerly was a therapist at Olmsted Medical Center, started the business.
She offers a variety of types of therapy. Her specialty is with difficult shoulder problems.
Anyway, she is up and running. I'll have more on her later.
And her office in the Executive Suites is near the Jay Clinic.

I wonder if she uses MFR to help people with their difficult shoulder problems?
I do!

I am a patient of her's, she is doing a wonderful job of therapy on my shoulder, using heat treatment, stretching and many stretching excercises she has me do at home.

Mick, you are right! Myofascial release is a very important piece of my treatment for certain types of shoulder conditions. Manually improving flexibility of a muscle using this technique is much more effective than traditional stretching for certain muscles in and around the shoulder joint.
