Zubay + Rochester Produce

For 25 years, LeeAnn Zubay has helped create the menu of dishes for Redwood Room, Broadstreet Cafe, City Cafe and City Market. Soon she will help grocery shoppers with their dinner menu.

In the spring, Zubay will start working part-time as an in-store specialty food consultant at the Rochester Produce grocery store at 2112 Second St. S.W.

So what is an in-store specialty food consultant?

“They ( the independent grocery store) have a lot of great items on shelves,” she says. “I’m going hang out and tell people what to do with this stuff.”

Owner Dave Kruse mentions Belgian endive as an example.
Kruse says he created the position for her.

“Her fingerprint on the store is important,” he says. “I’m excited about it. I’ll learn something.”
