More on 2nd Kismet store

Penny Bracken will probably get to know every crack in the sidewalk in the 600 block of North Broadway in Rochester this fall.

Bracken, the owner of a consignment store called Kismet Consignment Boutique at 603 N. Broadway, plans to open a second store just for furniture called Kismet Etc… at 611 N. Broadway in early October.

She has clothing, home accessories, furniture, antiques and vintage collectibles in her store now, but she is limited in space to display furniture. “Right now I’m turning away beautiful things every day,” she says.

So she bought the former Book Review building at 611 N.Broadway with its 2,400-square-feet of space from Rochester businessman Jack Prow.

“It is going to be a beaten path,” Bracken says jokingly of the sidewalk. “We’re looking into the possibility of a golf cart.”

She expects to have two to three employees on staff in Kismet Etc… The original store has four employees.

“What is really great about this spot will provide parking for both locations,” she says.
And she could park her golf cart there, too.
