7th Rib building deal in works
A deal to buy the former 7th Rib building in Racine is in the works.
.
The deal is far from being done. However, if it plays out as it stands, that building along U.S. 63 long known for its good food will become a retail center instead of a restuarant.
The 7th Rib closed in July of 2004 After 31 years of serving up barbecue ribs and one-pound pork chops.
The 7th Rib opened in 1973, founded by Richard Walters, his wife Lana, and Stephen Bauter. Popular dishes included hefty portions of steaks, chops, ribs and seafood.
The family sold the restaurant in October 2001 to Jeff Windt, a chef from Kansas City.
The 4.16-acre property was valued at $264,700 at the time in 2004 when it closed, according to the Mower County Assessor's Office

I didn't know they closed! I went there for Prom senior year... sad.
