I'm working on a P-B Dialogues for a week from today on fast-paced changes in downtown Rochester's dining world. On Monday, Michaels restaurant announced it will close after 63 years of business -- it's last day of business will be New Year's Eve -- and another downtown dining leader, Sontes, announced Wednesday's it's all done at the close of business on the 31st also.
This is after the recent change-a-roo at Bilott's Italian restaurant and other changes this year, and ahead of the much-anticipated opening of the new restaurant from Pat Woodring's company on South Broadway at Third.
Sounds like a Dialogues program to me. I'm inviting several guests to the table at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Rochester Public Library. So far, Tessa Leung of Sontes has RSVP'ed and I'll announce others Friday and Monday.
Hope you can join us for an hour of Q & A about what's ahead for downtown.
