What do you think about the name "Fighting Norskies"?
Regarding your editorial of September 3rd and the corresponding "Our view", as an enrolled member of the Lakota Rosebud reservation I found the "Our view" quite offensive, to my knowledge there is no such word in Lakota that corresponds to the "R" word, and you seem to imply it was an innocuous term that morphed in a slur. "Some scholars arguing Native Americans called themselves the R word" - are you kidding? Of course you don't list any names - I think this was fabricated. My understanding is the R word referred to the red bloodied corpses after they were scalped for a bounty (of course you left this out). Maybe it's just to much for the readers to hear in the context of the brutal recent ISIS genocide that mirrors the historical brutality against -" R word". I suspect your paper would still continue to report on a sports team named after the N word if it was profitable. Hopefully you'll see me someday protesting outside your office with the other 0.3% of Olmsted county. I will bring my concerns as citizen to The destination medical center meetings as well.
Also on this issue, the New York Daily News announced Wednesday that it won't use the Redskins name or logo in its coverage. Above is the logo they designed for the team.
