According to the website Politics.mn, Gov. Mark Dayton is expected to announce this morning that his chief of staff, Tina Smith, will be his running mate this fall.
The announcement will be made at a 10 a.m. rally in St. Paul.
Smith is also chairwoman of the Destination Medical Center Corp. board. Does being a candidate for lieutenant governor change her role there? Some have already questioned whether it's appropriate for the governor's top staff person to run the DMCC board. If she wins, would she resign?
We'll find out.
