Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce Appoints Jerry Williams Interim President
(Rochester, MN—January 29, 2014) Brent Buchan, Chair of the Board of the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce (RACC), announced this morning that the Board of Directors has appointed Jerry Williams Interim President while a search committee reviews candidates for a new President of the Chamber.
A longtime member of the Chamber's Government Affairs Committee, Williams has been a tireless champion of important community initiatives since retiring as Superintendent of the Rochester Public Schools System. He chaired the Government Services Redesign Task Force committee which recommended improvements to the city's Development Permitting process, chaired the Common Cents Steering Committee which helped ensure the passage of the local option sales tax renewal, and is serving on the Rochester Area Strategic Economic Growth Plan steering committee. "We're excited to bring in someone to lead our organization during this critical time who is not only a proven leader in the community, but also a strong advocate for Chamber activities and the business community," says Buchan.
A Transition Search Committee is now engaged in a search for qualified candidates to serve as the next President of the RACC. Search Committee members include Brent Buchan, Energy Products & Design, Inc.; Scott Heck, RBC Wealth Management; Sue Reinke-Walch, Minnwest Bank; Elaine Garry, People’s Energy Cooperative; Mike Busch, Paramark Corp.; Melissa Brinkman, Custom Alarm/Custom Communications, Inc.; Alan De Keyrel, CWS, Inc.; Lisa Clarke, Mayo Clinic; and Dharani Ramamoorthy, XyloTechnologies, Inc.
Former President, John Wade, resigned from the RACC earlier this month to become a Partner and the General Manager of Clements Chevrolet Cadillac Subaru.
