This is the Houston County communication about the plane crash near Caledonia Friday. We heard of the crash before this first release and reporter Kay Fate was near the scene when this one arrived at 5:41 p.m.:
There has been a confirmed plane crash approximately 1 mile south of the Houston County Airport. There will be an area at the Houston County Airport parking lot for media to gather for a future press conference. The time of the press conference is unknown at this time.
The address for the Houston County Airport is 17247 Hwy 76, Caledonia, MN 55921. The airport is approximately ¼ of a mile south of the intersection of Hwy 76 & Hwy 44.

Houston County Sheriff’s Office reports a plane crash two miles south of Caledonia Minnesota at approximately 4:30 pm November 1, 2013
Local farmer reported a possible plane in a field to Sheriff Doug Ely at approximately 4:30 pm. Upon investigation a plane was discovered in a harvested field. First Responded were requested immediately. Preliminary investigation indicates that a twin engine aircraft with four passengers aboard had crashed. Houston County Sheriff’s Office confirms three fatalities at this time. One person critically injured was airlifted from the scene by Med Link to a La Crosse Wisconsin hospital. NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) and FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) have been notified and will be responding to the scene. Houston County Sheriff’s Office is requesting anyone having information or persons that may have witnessed the incident, are asked to please contact 507-725-3379.
Houston County Sheriff’s Office will be assisting the NTSB and FAA with further investigation of the crash.
