All of a sudden, e-cigarettes and "vaping" are everywhere in the news, including a revealing bit of state research in the P-B's Answer Man column this week and a new national report Thursday that says young people's use of e-cig devices is growing fast.
Sounds like a perfect topic for a P-B Dialogue, so we'll do it at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, in the Rochester Public Library auditorium. Joining me for the free, informal community meeting will be state and local public health officials, business people and others -- I'm still putting the panel together, but it'll be good, and I'm not blowing smoke.
Among others, we'll have a representative from the American Lung Association's Minnesota chapter, which has been active on the issue, and I have a call in to Matthew Tlougan, owner of the Vape It Zone kiosk at Apache Mall.
Watch for more details here and in the print edition, and then join us for coffee, snacks and good conversation about an important issue in the news, locally and nationally.
