KSMQ enlists help in getting back into Charter's basic service

More on the Charter cable changes -- a note to the Answer Man from KSMQ:

As a follow-up to the Answer Man’s recent column about KSMQ-TV and Charter Cable, I wanted to let you know that Mayor Ardell Brede has engaged on the issue on our behalf, contacting the Charter General Manager. He too was wondering why the local PBS station, KSMQ, had been pulled off the basic cable tier in Rochester.

As you may know, KSMQ just produced and aired the Choral Arts Ensemble “Christmas at Assisi” concert and received wonderful feedback from viewers throughout the region. We are presently talking with the Rochester Symphony in hopes of producing and broadcasting their concert series this season. We paid for and produced a live broadcast of the U.S. First District Congressional debate at Somersby, in cooperation with the Rochester Chamber. We have an office at RCTC and are expanding our Rochester program offerings.

Let me know if you need any more information. We continue to receive calls and emails from frustrated Rochester cable television viewers. Thanks to the Post-Bulletin for its interest.

Best,

Eric Olson
President & CEO
KSMQ Television
