On Tuesday night, the solemn unity on the campaign trail on the anniversary of Sept. 11 was punctured by the protests and casualties in Egypt and Libya, as Mitt Romney called the Obama administration’s response to them “disgraceful.”

“I’m outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi,” Mr. Romney said in a statement released late Tuesday evening. “It’s disgraceful that the Obama administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.”

Today on the front page: Libyan ambassador reportedly killed in attack; natural gas-powered cars come to Rochester; well-known OMC family medicine doctor dies after accident at home.

Form letters for reporting bullying

Among the great resources at the PACER website on bullying prevention are templates for communicating with teachers, adminstrators and others about problems with bullying. Here's the link.

Seems a bit premature to have a sign saying "Opening Soon, Buffalo Wild Wings," over the vacant lot at Crossroads Center.

One more Dialogues meeting on bullying

We'll have one more Dialogues event on bullying, the third on the issue since April, on Thursday, 9/20, at the Rochester Public Library. This time out, we'll zero in on what Rochester area schools are doing, as explicitly as possible, to deal with bullying and keep students safe.

I need to get the panel lined up, but Dover-Eyota Superintendent Bruce Klaehn will be joining us, among others. He and I had an email chat a few months ago on this blog (also appeared in print) and he's written on his own blog about the topic.

As always, it's 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., it's informal and all about your questions and comments. Hope you can join us.
