A note from an ornery reader:
Well, another change in the cartoon section of the paper. That is the first thing I read. For some time now, I have been thinking about changing daily papers for one which prints better comics. I have written before when you were making changes.
You replaced one of the best with a crummy "Get Fuzzy." "Fox Trot" is worthless and "Cathy" is boring along with the dull "Dilbert." "Doonesbury" should not even take up space in the paper anywhere.
Those are the five I don't read, so what's left that I like? "Blondie" is of the old school of cartoons, and so is "Classic Peanutes." Those will never lose their humor.
Why do you pick cartoons that have no humor? Why do you pick cartoons that are just plain wearisome to read?
I am in a care center healing from a heart attack and waiting for a bypass. I have a sound mind.
I am 81 and still enjoy the comics when they are good ones.
I do hope you will make better choices in the future.
