Rochester's Jakaitis called up to the AHL

FELDY: I passed this along to the P-B's own Guy Limbeck, so you'll be able to read a little about it in Tuesday's print edition, but Rochester Mayo grad Jeff Jakaitis has been called up to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League from Charlotte of the East Coast Hockey League.

Manchester is the AHL affiliate for the L.A. Kings. Here's the story from the Monarchs web site.

Jakaitis, 25, was signed to a PTA (Professional Tryout Agreement). He was 12-9-2 with a 2.72 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage in 24 games for Charlotte this season.

A spot in Manchester came open on Monday when the L.A. Kings called up goalie Jonathan Bernier, a 20-year-old who was the Kings' first-round draft pick in 2006 (No. 11 overall).
