H.S. Hockey: Around the Big 9

FELDY: Today's helping of boys high school hockey stories from around Big 9 country ...

* Albert Lea is 8-2, but the schedule is about to get much more difficult for the Tigers. Rochester Mayo players might want to pin the next-to-last sentence of Nick Gerhardt's Albert Lea Tribune column up on their bulletin boards: "Mayo (8-4) was considered a top contender for the conference title this season, but have been inconsistent this season. The Spartans have a talented top line but little depth." ... Funny, but in the paragraph right before that statement, Gerhardt points out that 47 percent of Albert Lea's offense has come from its top line. Pot, meet kettle.

* Someone help me figure out this Owatonna club. The Huskies were rolled at West last night and fell below .500 for the season (4-5-1).

* Faribault edged John Marshall at the Rec Center on Tuesday.
