Swipe: Potter Auditorium sold, could be turned into art center
Rather than leaving only images of a wrecking ball crashing through brick, a nearly 100-year-old auditorium will become a place of artistic inspiration, according to an article today from the PB's Laura Horihan.
The Potter Auditorium in Chatfield has been sold to the Chatfield Economic Development Authority for $275,00. The sale includes the former elementary building also.
It's usually tough to find ways to save aging buildings like these, so it seems that an art center would be a great fit, assuming it can be sustainable.
Does my regular reader have any experiences out in the Chatfield area?
