Rochester school district budget-reduction committee's list now online

It's not in the most user-friendly format, but we have the list online of the items being considered by the Rochester school district's budget-reduction committee to plug a projected $5 million deficit for the 2011-2012 school year.

Images-2 This is the final list they are working from. It is from this list that they will choose their suggestions they will send to Superintendent Romain Dallemand. The school board will make the final budget-cutting decisions when and if they are needed.

To see the list, you need to scroll to the bottom of the story. You'll see a heading that says "Budget reduction list" Below that, in the lower left-hand corner of the box, there is an icon that says "menu." Hover the pointer over that, then move it up to "view full screen" and click.

Why do we never see what the total budget is for education and how that compares to previous years spending so we have some context to the cuts? All we ever see is a headline about the cuts.

So this blog hasn't been updated in over 23 days. Are you telling me there has been NO educational news this near to the election and referendum?

I wish Elliot Mann was still on staff. The PB continues to be a day late and a dollar short in the educational news department.
