Roller Derby comes to town Saturday in the "Med City Massacre." It's an interesting sport that goes back before the 50's though it saw its apex in the 70's with the weekly exploits of the L.A. Thunderbirds and athletes like Ralphie Valladeres and Ann Calvello. The 1972 film "Kansas City Bomber," which starred Raquel Welch, captured this popularity. A short-lived 1978 sitcom ('The Roller Girls') followed.
