Mitchel "Moxie" Paulson, a Rochester-based rapper, got word Tuesday that he gets to open for Coolio when the iconic rapper performs in Rochester.
Coolio of "Gangsta's Paradise" and "Fantastic Voyage" fame will headline a night of hip hop music Friday at Whiskey Bones Roadhouse, 3820 N. Hwy. 63. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
Paulson, who was interviewed by the Post-Bulletin about his views on Coolio's impact on the genre, said that he was surprised that the world renown rapper was performing here. His surprise was even greater when he found out he'll get to share a stage with the rapper who introduced Moxie to the genre.
"Still pretty stunned to share a stage with Coolio on Friday night," Paulson tweeted, "#grammy #hugeopportunity "nosweat"
