It was 20 below in Rochester this morning -- a good reason to head to Winona. Not that it's much warmer there, but Winona's Frozen River Film Festival begins this weekend. There will be award-winning documentary films, panel discussions, workshops and other related events.
Two films show tonight, "Birth of a Music Fest" and "Ice Water in the Veins," starting at 5:30 p.m. at Bub's Basement. Sunday, the feature is "Feat," about a man who attempts to run daily marathons, shown at 5 p.m. in the Saint Mary's University Performance Center.
After a couple of days off, the festival resumes Wednesday and runs through Jan. 30. Among the films to be shown: "Waste Land," "Roll Out Cowboy," "Run for Congo," "Sons of Perdition," "A Good Day to Die" and "Bag It."
