Over for the Gophers?

It was written on Tuesday that the season was not over for the University of Minnesota's men basketball team.

Well, now, maybe it is following the 53-48 loss to Michigan State.

OK, OK, there's three Big Ten games remaining plus the Big Ten Tournament so the season is not technically over, but you know what I mean concerning a bid to the NCAA Tournamaent.

It certainly doesn't look good, not with games left against Michigan, at Northwestern and at home against Penn State. Can you name me one where you "feel good'' about the Gophers chances of winning? They may not even be favored in any of them.

They are 6-9 in the Big Ten and 17-10 overall. And slipping.
